So embarrassed

We are so embarrassed by how poor we've done at posting on the blog this summer. God has been doing so much this summer, so He deserves for us to write all the time, it's just been so hard with all of our traveling. We are now on week 3 of a 3 week swing for me and a 5 week swing for Sarah and Kieren. I went Charleston on mission trip with 10th graders, Fun in the Son Camp, and now The Great Escape. Sarah went Fun in the Son Padre where she was the MC and taught a seminar, FITS- Jekyll where she was the MC again, and now she's speaking at 2 weeks of The Great Escape, a camp for middle schoolers. After that she's going to see our new niece (Lauren and Tre's baby) since they just moved to Florida. I'll be coming back to join her there.
So, you can see things are REALLY crazy. Poor Kieren has no idea where she lives, but she's a trooper and just keeps marching along. She's everybody's favorite baby at the camps! She's quite the celebrity.

Some particularly amazing things happened last week at FITS. The most important being that 7 of our kids committed their lives to Christ for the 1st time! Isn't that amazing!?!? We were so excited.
But we were also blown away by the support that we received from our YCM family last week. YCM is the organization that puts on FITS and Great Escape. We've both been involved with them for over 10 years. They allowed us to share our story and the call that God has for us in Cape Town. People talked to us about it all week and encouraged us. They bought our t-shirts and bracelets and then the craziest part happened. At the end of the week they also take up an offering at camp. Well, Chuck Neder, the CEO of YCM, committed half of the week's offering to Ubuntu Sports Outreach. That contribution ended up being....wait for it... $1,600! Can you believe it?!?! It was so humbling! We are so thankful for the support of our 'family' there and hope that many other partnerships will come from it. That's really what we need... partners. Please celebrate this huge blessing with us. We hope that as those shirts go out into various communities throughout the southeast that many people will be excited about our vision and call.
Well, I hope this will suffice for a decent update for now. It's been an exciting couple of weeks. We hope to have many more exciting updates for you as we press on towards September!

Summer Update

Hello!

So sorry we have been MIA from the blog - things have just been so busy! We are home from our trips this week and just enjoying some time together before we head out again. I leave on Friday for South Padre Island, TX for a Fun in the Son high school camp where I will be emceeing and teaching a seminar. Casey will leave next Tuesday for a mission trip in Charleston, SC. We will keep you posted on those!

Last week we both had incredible experiences on our trips! I will speak for myself, and say that it was SUCH a privilege to speak to those middle schoolers last week and share the love of God with them. They are so awesome! I just love all their passion and energy - they are truly crazy! I guess I just fit in with them :) God really showed up in so many ways. Kieren did awesome all week and seemed to enjoy just being around so many people. And she slept great (everyone always asks that!). Have baby and will travel :)

I love this summer and this time in our lives. It stinks to be apart from Casey a bit, but I just feel so revived getting to do ministry again. And this weekend Kieren will be 6 months old - what?? That seems so old to me! We are having so much fun with her at this age. She is hilarious!

I will share a few pics from a friend who took them at the Great Escape camp last week. Good times!

Lots of love,
Sarah
